He gave his first call at an amateur caller's competition in 1962, just a year after he started square dancing.   Winning this competition whetted his appetitie and within two years he was calling regularly for clubs throughout the area. At the invitation of various State, Territory and overseas Associations, Brian has conducted Caller's Schools and Clinics throughout Australia and New Zealand.  In the early seventies, he produced a teaching kit, which is used by the Education Department for teaching Square Dancing in schools.  In 1980, Brian became Australia's first full time caller. In 1982 he attended the Callerlab Convention at Reno Nevada and joined the International Association of Square Dance Callers.Over the years, his progress has been ever upward. Brian has recorded vocals for a number of record companies, including:  Sets in Order, Grenn, Top, FTC, Hoedowner, MacGregor, Chicago Country, Pioneer, Big Mac, Square Tunes, RCA, Global Productions, and Vista.
