You can do this with your staff too, so that not only do they improve their performance, but if you're smart, you can learn new or workable ideas to make your life easier and more productive. Think about getting your staff to learn more by encouraging them to read and listen to skill building materials. It can cost you little or nothing but the rewards can be tremendous. The people you want to keep are the ones wanting to learn, and you can pick your future stars by who responds to any opportunity you give them to increase their skills. My experience over 40 years of management is that if they don't want to learn, you don't need them on your team. |
